Architectural Communication Techniques

Arch111 is the lecture that teaches us the techniques to express ourselves as architects. More visual based lecture.

We started the Communication Course with some free hand abstraction exercises and for the first week we expected to make a free hand abstraction of a cityscape. This is the view of Istanbul/ Galata - Sultanahmet from top of the Galata Tower.

Then on we jumped to architectual photography. We expected to take photographs of some structures from the list and produce ywo postcards with the information of photographs at the back.

Arch111 Mid -Term 1
At the following stages we mostly focused on technical orthogonal drawings and sectioning. While we were drawing some given templates for Arch111, we were also drawing the organizations we produced at Arch101.

My first poster; subject and senteces were given to us, we had to design it.

While producing technical hand drawings we also introduced to digital medium. We learned how to produce in Adobe Photoshop with posters and in Rhinoceros 3D. We modeled some templates that we drew previously in Rhino to adapt ourselves to digital 3D enviroment. In time we utilised these experiences for Arch101 course.

Assignment 010, first Exploded Axonometric hand drawing

Arch111 Mid-Term 2
As the end of the semester approaches we introduced to axonometric and isometric drawings. Axonometric medium has let us see more values from one angle. After a while, we also produced exploded section views and learned how to present them stronger with digital animations.
